REPLY FROM BERNICE: Mike we wouldn't miss the Tomatoe Festival for anything, we will be there but not with the Red & White Van. We set up at Harford first, the festival changed its dates this year so we are improvising. We will be in a tent in our location and lets hope it doesn't get as hot this year. I am praying for great fair weather the whole season. We all deserve a little enjoyment after the winter we had. See you there.
Bernice
Factoryville, Pa USA - Wednesday, July 16, 2003Had to ask you a question. Are you doing the Pittston Tomoto Festival this year? Someone told me you were not going to because you were out at the Harford Fair and can't be in two places at once. Will the red and white van be there if you are. Let me know.
Mike
Pittston, Pa USA - Wednesday, July 16, 2003REPLY FROM BERNICE: Kathy, we are originally from Jersey not far from where you are. Great area.... We are working on many things this year and maybe a Jersey route would be a great addition to our list of projects. Have a really great time at the Wayne County Fair, hope to see you there.
Bernice
Factoryville, Pa USA - Wednesday, July 09, 2003We are already at our lake house and we will see you soon at the Wayne County Fair. I am bringing some guests they don't believe there is a PUDDIN' Cone. So I will treat thesse virgins to a really great treat. Wish we could find your pudding in our area. During the summer we drive over to Bill's Market in Daleville, get our favorite pizza and stop in for a couple of pounds of your pudding. This is a good ride for us but your pudding is worth it. See ya and the cow in August.
Kathy
Bernardsville, NJ USA - Wednesday, July 09, 2003REPLY FROM BERNICE: Carey we are working on it. Hope to shoot for next season. Keep enjoying our pudding hope to see you at one of our fairs. Have a really great summer.
Bernice
Factoryville, Pa USA - Wednesday, July 09, 2003My only comment is when are you going to do the fireworks and local fairs in Wilkes Barre??? We love your pudding here, get another truck or something so that you can be in two places at once.
Carey
Wilkes Barre, Pa USA - Wednesday, July 09, 2003REPLY FROM BERNICE: Can't wait to see you all and it will be coming sooner then you think. Getting ready for the fairs takes a great deal of team effort by everyone who works here. We are hitting our kitchen with increased volumes of puddings, moving vehicles where they need to go and cleaning everything. We are out there for 9 weeks with very little time off in between so it is difficult to ask our people to go an additional 4 weeks but you never know, we just might find one or two more to do. Thanks for all your support.
BERNICE
Factoryville, Pa USA - Tuesday, June 24, 2003Guess what time it is. Are you getting that pudding ready, we sure wish that you would get out to the fairs sooner. We miss our Pudding Cones. See you soon, you will recognize me I will wear my Down Home T shirt. Sherry

Bernice

Bloomsburg, Pa USA - Thursday, May 29, 2003REPLY FROM BERNICE: We will take the tapioca out with us again this year. The problem is it always sells out. You can buy our pudding at the Boyers Food Market or Stookeys BBQ also has it. Ask the deli person if they carry our tapioca if not tell them to call us and we will get it to them.
Bernice

Yardley, Pa USA - Friday, May 23, 2003REPLY FROM BERNICE: Lori we used to go every year to that fair also. It is beautiful there and I grew up in Jersey so I know the area. We are doing our Hartford Fair or Wyoming County at that time so maybe some day but not this year. We are glad you like our pudding.
Bernice
Factoryville, Pa USA - Thursday, May 22, 2003We went to one of your fairs last year and thought that this was the neatest idea. We go every year to the Sussex County Fair and think that you should call them and come on over to New Jersey. You'll like it there it is very much like Pennsylvania. The people there love rice pudding. E mail me if you are going to make it there this year.
Lori Smythe
Sussex , NJ USA - Thursday, May 22, 2003REPLY FROM BERNICE: Thank you for those kind words about our pudding. I don't have to tell them you just did and I couldn't say it any better.
Bernice
Factoryville, Pa USA - Tuesday, May 13, 2003I really enjoy reading the notes about your rice pudding here and on the Bloomsburg Fair page, during fair time it becomes very interesting. I talked to a woman at the Wayne County fair while waiting in line and she gave me a great idea for my daughters Birthday party. We bought quite a bit of your pudding at the Daves Super Duper got small waffle cones, whip cream and every kind of sundae topping I could find. The kids are all 8 to 10 and loved the pudding and making their own sundaes. Even my 3 year old Christa loved the pudding. You ought to tell people about this. It was great. See you at Wayne County

Bloomsburg, Pa USA - Wednesday, April 23, 2003Down Home Pudding is the BEST!! I love there pudding you should ask for a sample and you will be hooked. I found out you can buy it from stores around here! Factoryville, Pa USA - Wednesday, April 23, 2003Just saw the note on the Rice Pudding Waffle cones. Just want to tell your folks to make sure you go to the Red and White Van, had one at the Luzerne Fair, it wasn't the original Down Home and it was terrible, it was sittin out on the counter and it was warm, I stopped at the stand that had a lot of signs on it for different kinds of food. Go to the van that is ONLY pudding. I had to go back and pay to get in on Saturday to get a pound of Down HOme to take home to Mom & DAD. See you next year.

Dalton, Pa USA - Wednesday, April 23, 2003REPLY from Bernice, Thank you for your kind words. I recently told a young fellow he would love our rice pudding, everyone says it is just like their Grandmother's. He said, "then no thanks, my Grandmother couldn't cook." I told him but I bet she was a great hugger. He loved the pudding after all.
Bernice
FACTORYVILLE, Pa USA - Wednesday, April 23, 2003I've tasted your rice pudding and let me say that I haven't had rice pudding like yours since my Grandmother's. I sincerely hope that your distribution area expands to include northern New Jersey very soon. See you at the fair!!

Long Island, NY USA - Wednesday, April 23, 2003Dear Tonart Family, We are so please that you enjoyed our pudding. We always gringe when we hear commercial pudding but you are right, we are a small group of people who truly make our pudding in a homemade fashion, I guess. You will be pleased to know that you can purchase our puddings at Brunch Express, Dough Company, Black Duck Grille, King Neptune Seafood and Mark II Family Restaurant.
BERNICE
FACTORYVILLE, PA USA - Wednesday, April 23, 2003Dear Down Home Company, we reside in the Dallas Pa, Area, we are a family who likes to buy the best in food for our family and so do most of our friends who live in the area. We always seem to have to run to Wegmans in Wilkes Barre like many of the people in our area do to get some really good things that we can't get in Dallas area stores. We recently had your pudding at a party in the Scranton area and it is really the best commercial rice pudding we ever had, we thought it was homemade. The last 2 times we purchased rice pudding in our area it was bad and had to throw it away, one time it was on the verge of going bad. We shop at two stores in Dallas and neither carry your pudding. Do you deliver to this area and if so where can we fing your pudding. Price is not the object, quality is. Service a dish that you bought cheap and it doesn't taste good is no deal. Please e-mail us with stores that carry your delicious pudding.
Tonart Family
Dallas, Pa USA - Wednesday, April 23, 2003REPLY: Patrick thanks for your kind words. We also believe we have the very best rice pudding offered in the marketplace. That is because it is still made on stove top, hand stirred and each pot has a little love added. We all truly love making pudding. It is available at Dutch's Markets, Daves Super Duper, PaPa's Market and Tubby's Heroes. Enjoy
